AP Computer Science A

Develop the skills required to write programs or parts of programs to correctly solve specific problems. Students will learn design techniques to make programs understandable, adaptable, and reusable.

Foundations of Programming

Learn the skills required to be competitive in today’s high-tech workforce. This course covers the fundamentals of programming using the computer language Python. It provides students with the concepts, techniques, and processes associated with computer programming and software development. Students also explore the vast programming career opportunities available in this high-demand field.

Procedural Programming

For students who want to learn higher-level coding skills, this course teaches advanced programming concepts using the computer language Python. Students learn techniques and processes associated with computer programming and software development.

Digital Information Technology

This exciting course provides students with the foundational skills needed for future careers in a variety of technological fields. They explore emerging technologies, digital design, Microsoft Office online applications, operating systems, and much more! Learn personal strengths and how they relate to potential career opportunities.

Computer & Network Security Fundamentals

Covering the fundamentals of computer safety, network security, and prevention of digital attacks, this course allows students to experience a hands-on approach to security strategies and explore employment opportunities in one of the fastest-growing industries: Cybersecurity.

Cybersecurity Essentials

Covering defensive strategies for computer, mobile device, and network security, students will experience a hands-on approach to security strategies, expand your computer and networking security techniques, and improve your problem-solving skills. They also have the chance to explore numerous employment opportunities and prepare for one of the fastest-growing industries: Cybersecurity.

Accounting Applications 1

In Accounting Applications 1, students will build a broad foundation of knowledge and skills of accounting concepts in order to analyze, classify, and record business transactions in a manual and computerized setting; prepare financial statements and communicate information to stakeholders; maintain payroll records, and determine proper handling of cash control procedures.

Criminal Justice Operations 1

Explore the fields of law enforcement, the court system, and the correctional system. Students will acquire technical skill proficiency, industry knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, general employability skills, and occupation-specific skills needed in all aspects of law, public safety, and security careers.

Introduction to Hospitality & Tourism

Students will learn about segments such as airlines, hotels, and cruise ships, as well as customer service and selling techniques. The course will prepare them to launch their career in hospitality and tourism, with projects and take-aways that they will be able to use immediately to help them land their dream job.

Introduction to the Teaching Profession

Students will learn about the history, purposes, issues, ethics, laws and regulations, roles and qualifications of teaching. As they work through the course, they'll participate in a minimum of 20 hours of guided observations and field experience in different settings. They'll also build a working portfolio throughout their program, as they learn about leadership and skills opportunities offered in CTSO activities.

Parenting Skills

Parenting involves more than having a child and providing food and shelter. This one-semester course gives students the opportunity to explore parenting roles and responsibilities, nurturing and protective environments for children, positive parenting strategies, and effective communication in parent/child relationships.

Culinary Arts 1

This course covers the history of the food service industry and careers in that industry. Also covered are safety in the workplace; employability skills; leadership/teamwork skills; care and use of commercial culinary equipment; basic food science; basic nutrition; and following recipes in food preparation labs.

Culinary Arts 2

Covering state mandated guidelines for food service and safe handling certification, students will prepare quality food products demonstrating creativity, safety, and sanitary work procedures as it relates to food science principles including cooking, baking, and nutrition.

Career Research and Decision Making

In this course students will learn how to prepare for, get accepted to and pay for college. They will explore different career and education pathways, study interview techniques and networking tips, create smart resumes, and learn how to plan for a successful future.

Leadership Skills Development

Succeed in high school, college, and beyond. In this two-semester course, students will learn how to take action, manage their time, chart their goals, and many other leadership techniques.

Agricultural Communications 2

Through this course students are introduced to visual, verbal, and written techniques to communicate agricultural information. This course prepares students with specialized knowledge of agriculture and media as they learn to design and develop marketing materials, engage in the community, and address needs of agricultural producers and consumers in a moral and ethical way.

Agricultural Communications 3

This class provides real-world practice in writing, speaking, photography, graphic design, and web communication to prepare students to report and present agricultural topics with a detailed knowledge aimed to gain attention. Students will also learn how to effectively use their voice to present and debate agricultural topics.

Human Growth & Development

From the moment you’re born, you’re a learner. In this course, students learn about different theories of development, as well as how to apply those theories to meet the varying needs of students in their classroom. They’ll also learn what can affect a student’s development, including health and safety concerns, heredity, and their environment.

Health Science Foundations

This course is designed to provide the student with in-depth knowledge of the health care system and introduce them to various occupations in the field. Students will explore the educational requirements, licenses, and certifications for careers at multiple levels within the health care system. The learning focuses on communication and interpersonal skills, use of technology, ethics, and the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Physics

Discover the contributions of geniuses like Galileo, Newton, and Einstein by learning about the concepts, theories, and laws that govern the interactions of matter, forces, and energy throughout the universe and how those interactions apply to everyday experiences.

Chemistry

Atoms and molecules are the fundamental particles in our universe, and chemistry is your guide to understanding all about them. This course will strengthen scientific inquiry skills while challenging higher-order thinking processes through problem-solving and real-world applications. Chemistry is what connects all parts of the world together.

Physical Science

This course teaches the foundational concepts of physics and chemistry. Students will build an understanding of physical and chemical phenomena through scientific inquiry, interactive experiences, virtual and hands-on labs, higher order thinking, and collaborative projects; enabling them to apply these principles to their everyday lives.

Biology

Explore the structure, function, diversity, and evolution of living matter by taking an in-depth look at the fundamental characteristics of living organisms. You will have the opportunity to perform hands-on lab activities and develop relationships through collaborative learning.

Forensic Science

This course examines the latest forensic techniques and innovations used to solve crimes. It also focuses on basic scientific principles and laboratory processes used in the field, such as DNA testing, toxicology, and material analysis. Investigative experiences for students include spectrometry, electrophoresis, and evidence analysis techniques. Students also study crime scene processing and evidence collection during crime scene investigations (CSI).

Earth-Space Science

This laboratory course focuses on the study of space and the geologic and atmospheric forces that shape our world. Through experimentation and investigation, students will explore Earth’s cycles, including the geosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, atmosphere, and carbon cycle.

Environmental Science

Discuss the environmental challenges that impact our future, such as land use, pollution, climate change, and loss of biodiversity. This course is centered around achieving global sustainability to meet the needs of a growing human population, while also maintaining natural resources and protecting Earth's various systems. Students will also explore the short-and long-term consequences of our actions to human health and the environment are also a course focus.

Marine Science

Delve deeply into Earth’s bodies of water and study geologic structures and how they impact the oceans. Investigate characteristics of various populations of aquatic life, patterns of distribution, and ongoing changes occurring in our ecosystem.

Anatomy & Physiology

Explore the human body and learn how you can help your body cope with many different situations. Students will study the structure, location, and function of various systems within the human body and how these systems interact.

Agriscience Foundations

Dive into agricultural history and its global impact and learn about scientific and research concepts that drive the field, as well as the effects of agriculture on the environment.

Economics

Economic decisions affect us every day! Students become smart consumers who understand the flow of an economy between individuals, businesses, governments, and the rest of the world.

Economics with Financial Literacy

This course helps students to become a more informed consumer, producer, investor, and taxpayer. They explore topics like career planning, insurance, spending, and credit to learn how your choices directly affect your future.

Personal Financial Literacy

Saving. Investing. Spending! Students learn how to save and spend wisely, the ins and outs of credit, avoidance of identity theft, and how to make the most of investing their hard-earned money. They become smart financial decision-makers and let their future selves reap the benefits.

AP Microeconomics

Students explore the power of marginal thinking and apply it to common decisions that individuals and business firms encounter each day. They examine, interpret, analyze, and model key microeconomics concepts and processes, from the shifting supply and demand for familiar products to the model of the labor market and how wages are determined.

AP Macroeconomics

This course helps students to understand the choices they make as a producer, consumer, investor, and tax-payer. They are provided with the knowledge and decision-making tools necessary for understanding how a society must organize its limited resources to satisfy its unlimited wants.

In Foundations of Programming, students are tasked with designing a Python program in which the user is able to navigate a cursor in the middle of the program screen in whichever direction they choose, ultimately to showcase their knowledge of the Turtle module.

All About Me Project

In Digital Information Technology, students are tasked with creating a PowerPoint to showcase what they are all about, in turn to use the new skills they learned within the program.

Resume Project

In Career Research and Decision Making, students put together a resume to learn how to make an effective one that they would use in the future to help them land the job that they want.

Iterative Loops Project

In Procedural Programming, students design a text-based game, coded in Python, to show off their advanced knowledge of looping.

Speech Project

In Agricultural Communications 2, students learn how to develop a speech, and are then tasked with putting one together themselves. This helps them to learn real-world skills that can be used across all career fields.

Contact Data Challenge Program

In AP Computer Science A, students learn how to implement sequential/binary search methods with Java by designing a program to search contact data stored within an array by specific details.

Food Labs

In Culinary Arts 1/2, students particiapte in various food labs to demonstrate their understanding of preparing food, safe use of equipment, and nutrition.

Budget Project

In Economics, students learn how to create a budget, allowing them to keep track of their income and expenses and know how to adapt as needed.
