WHAT IS TSA?
TSA, or Technology Student Association, is a nationwide competition organization for students spanning a broad range of interests and passions through a diversity of events. It fosters a love of STEM among students, and provides an environment where they can incorporate their individual skills into a modern context. Members can compete at local, state, and national conferences.

I believe that Technology Education holds an important place in my life in the technical world. I believe there is a need for the development of good attitudes concerning work, tools, materials, experimentation, and processes of industry. Guided by my teachers, artisans from industry, and my own initiative, I will strive to do my best in making my school, community, state, and nation better places in which to live. I will accept the responsibilities that are mine. I will accept the theories that are supported by proper evidence. I will explore on my own for safer, more effective methods of working and living. I will strive to develop a cooperative attitude and will exercise tact and respect for other individuals. Through the work of my hands and mind, I will express my ideas to the best of my ability. I will make it my goal to do better each day the task before me, and to be steadfast in my belief in my God, and my fellow Americans.
ABOUT OUR CHAPTER
The TSA chapter at Florida Virtual School is a very unique one, as compared to others. Most chapters are comprised of a group of students who all go to the same brick and mortar school. However, our chapter is comprised of a group of students from all over the state of Florida, since FLVS is a state-wide online school. The chapter was founded during the 2021-2022 school year and had an amazing first year with nearly 97% of the members being new to the organization. We hope to succeed significantly even more in the coming years as it continues to grow.
Chapter Meetings
Since we all don't go to school with each other in-person and are spread out across the state, we conduct our meetings over Zoom. Every Monday night, we go over upcoming events and general announcements. This is also a good time for those who need to meet with their teams, who may not be able to throughout the week, in breakout rooms to work on their projects.
CONFERENCES
FL STATE CONFERENCE
This is where everyone's hard work on their projects becomes worth it. During this conference, across 4 days, the entire state of Florida comes together to compete against each other to see who's project is the best in the state for each event. The state conference for FL is held each year in Orlando, Florida.
NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Think States is something extravagant? Wait until you go to Nationals, where the entire country comes together! It gets even tougher than States, but it is an amazing experience to be a part of in which all of TSA comes together. It is held across 5 days, this year being located in Louisville, Kentucky. In years past it has been held in places such as Dallas, Washington D.C., Orlando, Atlanta, and even more spectacular places around the country!
